Overview
The MalaMala Game Reserve, strategically situated between South Africa‘s Kruger and the private Sabi Sand Reserve, shares a 19 km unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. It also has 20 kms of Sand River frontage; this perennial river acts as a wildlife magnet and forms the foundation of the reserve’s unrivalled game viewing. As the first privately owned and commercially operated game reserve in South Africa, it created the model on which all other private game reserves now operate. Why MalaMala:
- MalaMala’s river frontage, running north to south, is the lifeblood of the reserve and acts as a natural drawcard for animals, especially in the dry winter months. The wildlife moves from the Kruger National Park, across MalaMala, to the river and back again, resulting in two-way traffic across the reserve where we conduct our safaris
- Unrivalled views of the Sand River and surrounding bushveld.
- The camp main area offers an expansive wooden safari deck, in the shade of a Jackalberry tree, overlooking the beautiful Sand River.
- Morning and afternoon drives are available, and guided bushwalks are on offer. When not on exploration in the bush, you can relax a little at the camp’s swimming pool or in the spa.
