Northern Circuit
Offering diverse experiences, a range of camps and very good year-round wildlife viewing, Tanzania’s Northern Circuit really does offer something for everyone. From the huge herds of elephants in Tarangire to the scenic Ngorongoro Crater, the Northern Circuit is a popular safari option – with driving and/or flying between regions being possible.
The Great Migration typically occurs throughout the endless plains of the Serengeti from mid-October to mid-August, with the majority of the herds migrating across to Kenya’s Maasai Mara between these dates. Our experienced team will ensure you’re placed in the most prime locations to ensure bountiful migration viewing opportunities. If you’re lucky, you may even bear witness to some of the famed “river crossings” in the Northern Serengeti from late June onwards!
Other areas in Tanzania
Beyond the Serengeti and Ngorongoro lies a range of diverse and remarkable destinations in Tanzania. Far away from the popular Northern Circuit, Ruaha (Tanzania’s largest national park) and Nyerere offer a “slower” paced safari experience which is alluringly devoid of crowds and arguably more enjoyable.
Adventurous travelers can explore the Mahale Mountains (home of chimpanzee trekking), Rubondo Island in Lake Victoria and its dense forest ecosystem, or even Katavi – a sublimely kept secret where you can immerse yourself in untamed wilderness.
