Overview
- Set back on the pristine waters of the Munyanga river and facing the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the natural setting of Mahogany Springs is just stunning. The intricately designed stone pathways in the lodge’s lush gardens lead to the river, inviting guests to explore every corner of this magical place.
- The forest is situated in the Virunga Volcanoes mountain range, and is located in Uganda’s southwestern part, right on the edge of the western Rift Valley. This is one of earth’s most biologically diverse areas, where over half the world’s population of highly endangered mountain gorillas live.
- The lodge offers a range of suites that are spacious, and a highlight is the open-air terracotta shower. The classic style lodge forms the perfect base from where to commence your gorilla trekking adventures. The gorillas have been known to visit the lodge regularly.
- Sit down and relax on your private terrace or down by the river to absorb the stunning panoramic views here and allow your imagination to float off into a world of divine relaxation. With more bird species per square km than anywhere else in the world, Bwindi is often described as bird watchers paradise. Mahogany Springs is set back on an open piece of land by the river, ensuring that many rare bird species pay a visit here daily.
