Overview
- Located in the heart of Kenya’s Maasai Mara, and hidden in a forest along the Emboo River, a bend of the Talek River, this sustainable camp offers a great spot to explore the spectacular Mara ecosystem and all its wildlife (sometimes even within the river!). Emboo River is a proud part of the Maasai Community; ‘emboo‘ means ‘a pride’ in the Maasai language.
- Emboo River’s 6 River Rooms, 1 River Suite Bella’s Tree and 1 River Suite Firefly all overlook the river. After a long day, jump into your rain shower which has running and warm water thanks to the camp’s solar heaters.
- The camp is carbon neutral; it’s the first camp in this region to go fully eco and – thanks to innovation and technology; it uses renewable and local resources like solar power, electric safari vehicles, biological filtration and reusing of all wastewater and organic vegetables.
- Thanks to its central location there is wildlife all around the camp and game drives start as soon as you jump into the electric safari vehicles. During the Great Migration season (July-October), the wildebeest and zebra herds use a popular river crossing very close to camp. So you could be just right in the centre of the migration action!
