Marleen was based in Cape Town for almost 5 years, working for an East African safari operator. She travelled extensively through East and Southern Africa; from luxury lodges in the Serengeti and Maasai Mara to basic canoeing adventures on the Zambezi river and camping on top of a Landrover from South Africa to Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana.

Experiencing the contrast in landscapes is one of the most special things while on safari. From the extreme dry Kalahari desert and Makgadigadi salt pans, to the stunning Okavango Delta waterways in Botswana. Mana Pools in Zimbabwe is Marleen’s most favourite safari destination; a stunning park to spot diverse game. It combines well with an adventurous canoeing trip on the Zambezi river; sleep under a fly tent and listen to hippo sounds. It really doesn’t get better than this!
